If you’ve created bookmarks to many YouTube videos in Google Chrome, you may want to download them all to play them offline or to transfer them to another device.

This guide will show you how to download them all in one go with very little effort.

The guide will cover downloading the video files and creating MP3 files from the downloaded videos, but you can skip creating the audio files if you just want a local copy of the videos.

Copying Bookmarks to a Text File

First, we need to copy all the bookmark URLs from Chrome and save them in a text file.

To do this, open Chrome and then open the bookmark manager in Chrome by pressing Ctrl + Shift + o or navigating to it through the menus.

From the list of folders on the left, select the folder containing the YouTube videos you wish to download.

Click the first bookmark in the list on the right so that it is highlighted and then press Ctrl + A to highlight all the bookmarks in the list. Press Ctrl + C to copy all the bookmarks.

Selecting all bookmarks in a folder.

Create a folder called ‘youtube-dl’ on your desktop and open notepad. Paste in the copied bookmarks. Save this as a text file called youtube-links.txt in the youtube-dl folder.

Downloading YouTube-DL and FFMPEG

Download the latest version of the youtube-dl executable from the youtube-dl GitHub releases page. Place youtube-dl.exe in the youtube-dl folder we created on the Desktop.

To extract audio files we need to download a tool called FFMPEG. Download FFMPEG from https://www.gyan.dev/ffmpeg/builds/.

Downloading FFMPEG

Once the FFMPEG download is complete, extract the downloaded file and navigate to the bin folder. Copy the 3 files in this folder to the youtube-dl folder we created on the desktop earlier.
